Matagorda Adventure Company offers group and private yoga classes in Matagorda, Texas. We offer multiple group classes per week which are listed below. Please arrive 5-10 minutes early as all classes start at the scheduled time, and all participants need to be signed in with completed liability waivers & payment prior to class start time. Yoga at Matagorda School
Tuesdays 5:30pm & Saturdays 8:30am
Indoor 1 hour yoga class at the Matagorda Elementary School Gym at 717 Wightman St, Matagorda, TX 77457. We guide you though a 1 hour Vinyasa flow class which normally consists of 10 minutes of warm-up/stretching, 35 minutes of faster moving flow yoga with some core focus where you link one pose per breath (guaranteed to get your heart rate up), and a 15 minute cool down of deeper stretching & relaxation. We move you through the routine with many options to increase the challenge, but easy enough for the first time yoga practitioner. No advance reservation required for public group classes which are an affordable $20 per class (cash or credit card) or buy a 10 class punch card in advance for just $150 ($15 per class). If you don’t have your own yoga mat you can rent one from us for just $5.
Kayak + Yoga Adventure to West Beach (2 hour Tour $65 per person)
Kayak across the Colorado River to the secluded West Beach which is ONLY accessible by boat. It’s a quick paddle across & short walk to beautiful West Beach which is known for having the largest shells of Matagorda! We’ll lead you across the river, take a short walk down the Jetties until we get to the Cove on the other side. Practice 30 minutes of relaxing yoga & have time to beach comb or just enjoy the ocean view. Price includes kayak, paddle & lifejacket. Wear comfortable clothes, suggested water shoes, and bring water. If you don’t have your own yoga mat you can rent one from us for just $5. No prior kayak or yoga experience necessary.

Perfect for families & groups of friends who want private instruction in Matagorda. 1 Hour Class designed for your needs & taste of music for a flat hourly rate (yoga mat rental available for $5/per mat). Beach Yoga Class
**Available on Request as a Private Lesson until Spring 2019**
Beach yoga is hard to beat! Come enjoy a 1 hour yoga class on Matagorda Beach. The class takes place near Jetty Park on the beach just east of the pier. We guide you though a 1 hour Vinyasa flow class which normally consists of 10 minutes of warm-up/stretching, 35 minutes of faster moving flow yoga with some core focus where you link one pose per breath (guaranteed to get your heart rate up), and a 15 minute cool down of deeper stretching & relaxation. We move you through the routine with many options to increase the challenge, but easy enough for the first time yoga practitioner. We do all this with the magnificent view of the ocean as our backdrop & the roar of the waves as our background music.
Christy, our resident yogi is a registered 200HR Registered Yoga Teacher from Yoga Alliance, certified in First Aid, CPR & AED from American Heart Association, and an American Canoe Association Standup Paddleboard Instructor. She completed her yoga training at Black Swan Yoga Houston during their inaugural training class in the fall of 2016. Topics covered during this intensive 10 week/200 hour course included:

Private Classes Upon Request
Yoga on a Standup Paddleboard (SUP) is exciting & challenging. The calm & serenity of a water setting is perfect for connecting to nature & your breath as you move through yoga poses which challenge your balance on a 12.6 foot standup paddleboard. These classes start with a warmup paddle to majestic East Matagorda Bay through Rawlings Cut. Once in the Bay we anchor our boards & begin to flow through Sun Salutations & other yoga poses. This class is 2 hours & not recommended for your first time on a SUP. If you’re new to SUP, our recommendation is to take a SUP Basics Tour first to get your sea legs & then try SUP Yoga.
