Jetty Park is a county park where the Colorado River meets the Gulf of Mexico. If you want to access west beach on the other side of the Colorado or paddle up river, this is the place. Also a fun place to SUP when the conditions are good. Currents and waves at the mouth of the jetties can be dangerous, so don’t paddle out on a rough day. Watch out for boat traffic though as the Colorado River is an active boating channel for both recreational and commercial traffic. This is a MAC Put-in/take-out point.
From Matagorda drive south on FM 2031 across the bridge. Drive all the way to the end of FM 2031 where it dead ends into Jetty Park.
Parking & facilities:
There is paved parking in the parking lot and parking on the beach. There are bathrooms, covered picnic tables and trash cans. Camping is allowed. There is no usage fee for Jetty Park.
