Allen's Landing Paddling Trail Allen’s Landing
Allen’s landing provides easy access to East Matagorda Bay. It is a short .43 mile paddle out to the bay. There is parking at this site.
Rudacells Cut East Matagorda Bay PaddleSports Park at Rudacell’s Cut
There is a small parking and paddlecraft launch site. Rudacell’s Cut provides quick access to the bay and adjacent marsh areas that are good for fishing and birding.
Jetty Park Aerial Photo Jetty Park
Jetty Park is a great site to go in if you want to access the beach on the other side of the Colorado River. Also a fun place to SUP when the conditions are good. Watch out for boat traffic though as Jetty Park sits at the entrance to the Colorado river on an active boating channel.
Parker's Cut Parker’s Cut
This is a great fishing and birding site  or just a peaceful paddle. It does require a short portage over land with your kayak but is well worth the effort.
Rawlings Cut Rawling’s Cut
Rawling’s Cut provides easy access to East Matagorda Bay and Condo Cove. This is one of the most popular access sites for kayak fishing in the area.
St. Mary's Bayou St. Mary’s Bayou
St. Mary’s Bayou is a large marsh area. You can spend all day exploring here. This is a great site for birding & fishing. When the winds are high, this is a good site to paddle as there is some protection from the wind.
3 Mile Lake Aerial Photo 3 Mile Lake
3 Mile Lake is a large marsh area on the backside of Matagorda beach. It is accessed from the Beach but typically requires a 4×4 vehicle.

Other Public Access Sites

Little Boggy Bayou Little Boggy & McNab Lake
Little Boggy Bayou connects McNab and Gottschalk lakes to the Intracoastal Waterway. This is a great place to fish for Reds and Flounder and view wildlife. Be aware that this is prime Alligator habitat and there are lots of very large ones in this area.
River Bend Boat Ramp River Bend Boat Ramp
This is a county boat ramp on the Colorado River. There is no access fee to use the ramp. There is parking available.
Riverside Park Riverside Park
This is a beautiful park on the Colorado River just south of Bay City. It is a great place for a day paddle or you can use this park as a starting point for a 27 mile paddle downstream to Matagorda Beach. FM521 Park provides a shorter 11 mile paddle and public camping if you decide to do a multi-day trip all the way to Matagorda Beach. 
FM521 Park FM521 Park
FM521 Park is a small park with a boat Ramp on the Colorado River north of Matagorda. This is a great site to put in for an all day paddle down river. FM521 Park also serves as a great place to camp overnight if you are paddling from Riverside Park to Matagorda Beach. There are no usage or camping fees.
Mitchells Cut Mitchell’s Cut
Mitchell’s Cut is a natural cut that connects East Matagorda Bay with the Gulf of Mexico. This is a good fishing spot. 4×4 vehicle required. Beware of swift currents and quick sand. Click here for more information about Matagorda Beach.
